Precision-molded to the original fuel tank profile of the Yamaha YZF-R1, the HMZ-R1 TC is a direct-fit tank cover that bonds securely in place using pre-applied 3M VHB adhesive — no drilling or permanent modification required.

Mounting Instructions
  1. Test-fit the tank cover and confirm final position before removing the adhesive liner.
  2. Confirm the tank surface is clean, dry, and free from wax, fuel residue, or coating buildup.
  3. Install at an ambient temperature of 25–30°C (77–86°F), applying firm, even pressure across the entire bonding area, working from one edge outward to avoid trapped air.
  4. Allow at least 12 hours before riding or washing the motorcycle.
  5. Follow the supplied installation guide as directed.

    Care: Avoid direct contact with pressure washers, fuel spills, solvents, and strong acidic or alkaline cleaners.

Shipping: Orders are prepared according to the inventory or production status shown on the product page. Tracking information is provided once the order has been dispatched.

Delivery & Duties: Transit times begin after dispatch and do not include order processing, production lead time, customs clearance, public holidays, or carrier delays. International orders are shipped under DAP (Delivered at Place), Incoterms® 2020 unless otherwise stated. Import duties, taxes, customs clearance charges, and brokerage fees may apply and are the recipient's responsibility unless otherwise stated at checkout.

Shipping Policy.

Returns: Returns must be requested before the product is installed. Items must remain unused and uninstalled, with the adhesive liner intact and all original packaging and components included. Products with removed adhesive liners or signs of attempted installation cannot be returned.

Refunds: Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 10 business days after the returned item has been received and inspected. Original shipping charges, return shipping costs, duties, and taxes are non-refundable unless the item received is defective or incorrect.

Is this tank cover compatible with my motorcycle?

The HMZ-R1 TC is developed specifically for the 2015–2024 Yamaha YZF-R1, based on the original OEM fuel tank shape. Aftermarket tanks, tank protectors, or repainted/modified tank surfaces may affect fitment — contact us with your model year and photos if you're unsure.

Is the 3M VHB mounting secure at highway speeds and under fuel exposure?

Yes, when installed correctly. Bond strength depends on a clean, dry surface, firm installation pressure, and sufficient curing time. Do not install over wax, tank protector film, or fuel residue. Avoid washing or sustained high-speed riding for 72 hours after installation.

Does this fender include mounting hardware?

No. Because the HMZ-R1 FD is a direct-fit replacement, it reuses the screws from your original OEM fender. No additional hardware is included in the box. Inspect the original screws before reinstallation and replace any that are worn, stripped, or corroded.

Does this cover require drilling, and can it be removed later?

No drilling or permanent modification is required. It can be removed carefully using controlled heat and the correct adhesive-removal process; some residue may remain. The original adhesive must never be reused — fresh 3M VHB is required for reinstallation.

Does this cover affect access to the fuel cap or tank straps?

No. The HMZ-R1 TC does not interfere with fuel cap access. None of the supported YZF-R1 model years use tank straps, so there is no strap-related fitment concern.
