Technical Information

HMZ Series winglets are shaped around the original fairing geometry of each intended application, providing a precise, vehicle-specific fit.

- Configuration: Two-piece set, left and right

- Available Models:

  • N Model: Gloss black
  • NS Model: Matte black

- Mounting: Drilled and bolt-on installation

- Permanent Modification: Required

Mounting Instructions

The HMZ mounting system uses bolt-on hardware and requires drilling and permanent modification to the side fairings.

  1. Remove the side fairings before installation.
  2. Test-fit both winglets, align the supplied drilling jigs with the fairing edges, and secure them temporarily with masking tape.
  3. Mark each hole position and drill perpendicular to the fairing surface using the hole size specified in the supplied installation guide.
  4. Insert the screws from the inside of the fairing outward, secure the winglets with the included mounting hardware, and reinstall the fairings.

Professional Installation: Recommended if you are unfamiliar with fairing removal or drilling procedures.

Care: Avoid direct contact with pressure washers, open flames, alcohol, chemical solvents, and strong acidic or alkaline cleaners.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Are HMZ motorcycle winglets model-specific?

Yes. Every HMZ winglet kit is developed for the motorcycle model and model-year range specified on the individual product page. The winglet profile, mounting position, and drilling points are designed around the original OEM fairings. Fitment cannot be guaranteed with race fairings, aftermarket panels, repaired bodywork, or modified mounting areas unless specifically stated.

Why do HMZ winglets require drilling?

HMZ Series winglets use a model-specific mechanical mounting system to create a fixed structural connection with the fairing. This helps maintain the intended position and alignment under vibration, road use, and aerodynamic load without relying on adhesive alone. Drilling is an intentional and permanent part of the installation. HMZ winglets must not be converted to adhesive mounting, as this may compromise installation strength and stability.

Is professional installation required?

Owners who are comfortable working with motorcycle bodywork can complete the installation by following the included step-by-step mounting guide. Both winglets should be dry-fitted and carefully aligned before drilling, and some applications may require partial fairing removal.

If you are unfamiliar with drilling painted body panels or removing motorcycle fairings, we recommend having the kit installed by a qualified motorcycle workshop. If any mounting point does not align during the dry fit, stop and contact HARMONIZE before proceeding.

Are HMZ winglets stable at highway speeds?

When installed correctly, the HMZ mechanical mounting system is designed for normal road use, including highway riding. Its secure fit depends on correct drilling, hardware placement, tightening sequence, and the condition of the fairing. The winglets should be inspected regularly, particularly after sustained high-speed riding, track use, transportation, or impact.

The profile is engineered to manage airflow around the front bodywork, with aerodynamic effects becoming more pronounced as speed increases. Actual performance may vary with speed, rider position, suspension setup, and road conditions.

What if the winglets arrive damaged or do not align correctly?

Inspect and dry-fit every component before drilling or modifying the motorcycle. If the winglets, hardware, or mounting references appear damaged, incomplete, or incorrectly aligned, contact HARMONIZE with your order number and clear photos before proceeding.

Confirmed shipping damage, manufacturing defects, and incorrect items will be reviewed for an appropriate replacement or return solution. Eligible returns must remain unused, uninstalled, unmodified, and complete with their original packaging. Products that have been drilled, installed, or altered cannot be returned for fitment-related reasons.
